In 2012, Newworldson released their fourth album “Rebel Transmission”, which cracked iTunes top ten for Christian/Gospel/Inspirational albums in the US and Canada, and scored another top-three single with “Learning To Be The Light”, a song that remained on US Christian radio charts for nearly a year (Billboard peak: #3 – Christian Songs on March 24, 2012). “Rebel Transmission” received critical acclaim for “its willingness to take its music down musical avenues not commonly traveled by artists of faith” (crosswalk.com).
Later that year, Newworldson said goodbye to founding members Rich Moore (bass, vocals) and Josh Toal (guitar, vocals). “We’re so grateful for the experiences we’ve shared with our brothers Josh and Rich,” commented front man Joel Parisien. “Mark [Rogers, drums] and I are excited to see what God has planned for the next chapter of their lives.”
Moving forward, the band invited veteran Canadian bassist John Irvine, Motown alumnus Leroy Emmanuel (Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson) and the world-famous Chops Horns (Alicia Keys, the Police) to the party, adding even more depth and history to their signature sound: inspirational lyrics, an eclectic blend of 60s soul, funk, roots and Gospel, and a live show that can’t be missed.
